Job Purpose:
The Accounts & Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate, timely and controlled accounting and financial operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions. The role will manage end-to-end bookkeeping for eight accounting books across multiple countries and accounting systems, while supporting invoicing, accounts receivable and payable, reconciliations, month-end closing, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, intercompany accounting, statutory compliance and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Multi-Entity Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for eight accounting books across multiple countries and systems.
- Maintain accurate financial records across QuickBooks, Zoho Books, and other approved accounting/ERP platforms, as applicable.
- Ensure transactions are accurately classified, supported and posted to the appropriate General Ledger accounts, entities, cost centres and accounting periods.
- Maintain accurate General Ledger and Trial Balance records for assigned entities.
- Ensure financial information remains complete, traceable and supported by appropriate source documentation.
- Support independent month-end and year-end closing activities for assigned entities.
Invoicing, Accounts Receivable & Collections:
- Ensure timely and accurate issuance of invoices in accordance with approved billing cycles, contracts, service completion records and supporting documentation.
- Maintain complete visibility of billed unbilled, due and overdue receivables.
- Monitor AR ageing and actively follow up on outstanding balances.
- Investigate and resolve billing disputes, missing documentation, invoice discrepancies and payment-allocation issues.
- Ensure customer receipts are accurately allocated and reconciled against outstanding invoices.
- Maintain accurate customer account reconciliations.
Accounts Payable & Payments:
- Review supplier invoices and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy and appropriate approval.
- Maintain accurate vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and maintain payment schedules in accordance with approved payment terms and cash-flow priorities.
Bank, Balance-Sheet & Account Reconciliations:
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all assigned entities and bank accounts.
- Reconcile customer, vendor, intercompany and other material balance-sheet accounts.
- Investigate reconciling items and ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure all material bank, receivable, payable, intercompany and balance-sheet accounts are reconciled before final monthly reporting.
Month-End, Year-End & Financial Reporting:
- Operate a controlled monthly and year-end closing process across assigned entities.
- Complete required journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Provide weekly finance and revenue snapshots to management.
- Prepare Flash Revenue & Financial reporting to management.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis:
- Coordinate budgeting and forecasting activities with department heads and relevant finance resources.
- Maintain rolling cash-flow forecasts covering expected receipts, payments and material financial commitments.
Tax, Statutory & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure required returns, filings and supporting information are prepared accurately and within prescribed deadlines.
- Promptly identify and escalate potential tax, regulatory or compliance exposures, together with supporting information and recommended action.
- Maintain documentation required to demonstrate compliance with applicable finance policies and statutory requirements.
Finance Systems, Billing Platforms & Automation:
- Maintain accurate financial records across the Group's approved systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive accounting and reporting processes.
- Support development and use of dashboards, workflow controls and system integrations to improve financial accuracy, efficiency and management visibility.
- Eliminate unauthorised parallel records, offline financial records and unnecessary duplication.
- Ensure financial information remains traceable from management reporting back to the accounting system and underlying source evidence.
Audit, Controls & Governance:
- Maintain complete and audit-ready financial records.
- Ensure adequate documentation and audit trails are maintained for all material transactions.
- Support internal and external audit requirements and provide requested schedules and evidence.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification or progress toward ACCA, CA, CMA, CPA or equivalent is preferred.
- Approximately 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably involving multi-entity or multi-country operations.
- Demonstrated experience in General Ledger, AR, AP, bank reconciliations, month-end closing and financial reporting.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Oracle or comparable ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and financial-analysis capabilities.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and management reporting.
- Experience supporting tax, audit and statutory compliance requirements is preferred.
- Experience in a service-based, professional-services or multi-jurisdiction organization would be advantageous.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:
- ACCA qualified or ACCA Affiliate. If you specifically want fully qualified only, state “ACCA Member/Qualified – mandatory.”
- Proven professional experience in Accounting and Finance, with strong hands-on accounting knowledge.
- Strong practical experience in Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, AR ageing, collections, customer reconciliations, receipt allocation and follow-up of overdue receivables.
- Hands-on experience with General Ledger, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, Accounts Payable and month-end closing.
- Practical working knowledge of Pakistan FBR requirements and applicable tax/VAT/sales tax requirements, including preparation of supporting schedules and compliance documentation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Zoho Books and QuickBooks; experience working across multiple accounting books/entities will be preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
- Experience in a multi-entity or multi-country finance environment will be highly preferred.
